Eco-Friendly Efforts!

We are passionate about being a sustainable and eco-friendly small business! Interested to know what steps we're taking to achieve this? Read on!

Eco-Friendly Shipping Materials

My inner packaging is curbside-recyclable glassine bags instead of plastic. For outer packaging, I use either curbside-recyclable paper/cardboard mailers, or 100% recycled plastic mailers that can be recycled at your local grocery store along with your plastic grocery bags. (Please recycle your grocery bags!!!)

Why 100% recycled plastic instead of biodegradable? In my research for eco-friendly materials, I found that biodegradable plastic mailers are usually made from new plastic, and while it degrades over time, it degrades into micro-plastics that can re-enter the water system. Because of this, I chose to go with recycled plastic. But please note that I am just an amateur enthusiast, not an expert! So if you have any suggestions, please feel free to let me know!

Also, please note that while I do my best to choose eco-friendly options, I am still just a one-person business trying to be economical as well. I am choosing the most eco-friendly options available to me within my budget.

Plastic-Wrapped Items

Some items that I have manufactured overseas arrive to me already wrapped in plastics. Some suppliers do not offer plastic-free options, while others sometimes charge a fee for not including the plastic wrap. One of my future goals is to research a more sustainable way to order products from manus!

Other items, such as my OT8 card packs, are actually sleeved in re-used plastic photocard sleeves! I do a lot of photocard trading/buying, and usually have a lot of these laying around from past trades. I prefer to re-use them instead of throwing them away, and I hope that you will consider that, too!
